Technology Decisions
Every choice has a reason
We don't pick tools because they're trendy. Every technology in the stack was chosen for a specific engineering reason — and we'll tell you what it is.
Next.js (App Router)
SSR for SEO on marketing pages, Server Components to reduce client JavaScript bundle. Static generation at build time for pages that don't change per-request.
TypeScript
Compile-time type safety across all server boundaries. Catches entire categories of errors before the code ever runs — not after a client reports them.
PostgreSQL (Neon)
Serverless-native database with auto-branching. Every preview deployment gets its own isolated database — no shared staging environments, no data collision.
Prisma
Type-safe database queries with version-controlled migrations. The schema serves as documentation, and migration history provides an audit trail of every structural change.
Clerk
Managed authentication with magic link (passwordless) support and role-based access. Building auth from scratch is a security liability — we use specialists.
Vitest + Playwright
Fast unit tests with co-located test files for every component. Playwright handles end-to-end tests in real browser environments for critical user flows.
Sentry
Error monitoring with source maps. Catches production issues with full stack traces before clients report them. If something breaks at 2am, we know by 2:01am.
Zod
Runtime validation at all server boundaries. TypeScript checks types at compile time; Zod verifies data shapes at runtime — because external inputs can't be trusted.
Delivery Transparency
Quality evidence builds throughout, not at the end
Most agencies run a final QA pass before delivery. We run quality checks continuously — from the first commit to the last deploy. Evidence accumulates throughout the project, so by delivery time, the quality report writes itself.
